### Android Proxy Setup Guide

This guide presents two options for setting up a proxy on Android devices: **Wi-Fi Settings** and **Mobile Data Settings**.

## Getting Started

Before proceeding, ensure that you have:

* No other VPN or proxy services active.
* The **proxy endpoint** and **port** (e.g., us.decodo.com:10101).
* Your proxy username and password (or a set of whitelisted IPs).

📘 **Proxy Guide**
Learn how to find proxy details for each proxy type in the dashboard \[here].

## Wi-Fi Network Settings

📘 **Note**
Steps may vary slightly depending on your Android version and device model.

⚠️ **App Compatibility Warning**
Wi-Fi proxy settings only work for browsers. Apps cannot connect through this method.
For app-specific proxy configuration, follow the Mobile Data Settings below.

### Step 1

Open **Settings** on your Android device, then navigate to **Connections** / **Network & Internet**.

### Step 2

Go to **Wi-Fi**, tap the network you are connected to, and select the **Settings** (gear) icon.

### Step 3

Choose **Advanced Settings**, **Modify Network**, or tap **See More** to expand the section.

### Step 4

Under **Proxy**, select **Manual**.

### Step 5

Fill in the following fields:

* **Proxy hostname** (e.g., us.decodo.com)
* **Proxy port** (e.g., 10001)

### Step 6

Tap **Save** to apply the settings.

### Verify the Connection

1. Open your browser and visit **ip.decodo.com**.
2. If you are not using a whitelisted IP, you may be prompted to enter your credentials. Input your proxy username and password, then tap **Log In**.

If the setup is successful, your IP address will reflect the proxy's location.

## Mobile Data Settings

📘 **Note**
Steps may vary slightly depending on your Android version and device model.

### Step 1

Go to **Settings** → **Connections/Network & Internet** → **Mobile Network**.

### Step 2

Select **Access Point Names (APN)** and tap your active APN.

### Step 3

Fill in the following fields:

* **Proxy** (e.g., us.decodo.com)
* **Port** (e.g., 10001)

### Step 4

Configure Authentication:

* **Username**: Your proxy username
* **Password**: Your proxy password

### Step 5

Tap the three vertical dots in the top-right corner to save changes, then press **Save**.

### Step 6

To apply the changes, turn mobile data off and back on to restart the network connection.

### Verify the Connection

1. Open your browser and visit **ip.decodo.com**.
2. If prompted, enter your credentials and tap **Log In**.
3. Confirm that your new IP address reflects the proxy configuration.

## Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

### Blocklist

⚠️ **Target Access Notice**
Please note that access to certain domain names is restricted. Click \[here] to learn more.

### Direct IP

**Direct IP Parameter Support**
If you have purchased an IP list, you can use the direct IP parameter in your proxy username: `user-username-ip-x.x.x.x`

**Supported Plans**: DC Pay/IP, Dedicated DC, ISP Pay/IP, Dedicated ISP Plans.
Products that provide access to the full proxy pool (e.g., Residential Proxies) do not support this parameter.

### IP:Port Format

Decodo proxies do **not** support the default IP:PORT format.
You must use the **endpoint rotator format** (e.g., us.decodo.com:10101).

If necessary, try the workaround \[here], but it only works temporarily and requires reinstallation after updates.
